This class teaches the basics of constructing a “spoon” style glass pipe. You will learn how to properly “pull a point,” a technique used to make a piece of glass tubing into a workable object with handles and a blow tube. You will heat and blow the bubble into a spoon-like shape. Also covered is using a bowl “push,” blowing out a “choke hole,” and detaching handles from your piece. We recommend keeping your spoon in the kiln overnight to anneal and picking it up the next day. This is a 6 hour class with a half hour break. This class comes with all materials including clear & colored glass, safety equipment, use of the studio including tools, use of didymium glasses, all oxygen & fuel gasses, and instructor guidance. When you finish the class you will be presented with a certificate of completion. Limit of 3 students per class.
